HMSA to Cover Flu Shots for '04-'05 Season |

Mr. Carl Omori, Manager, Provider Services at HMSA recently confirmed that HMSA will cover influenza vaccine and its administration for 6-23 month old children. In addition, children less than nine years old not previously vaccinated for influenza will have two shots covered. New ACIP/AAP recommendations to that effect will be honored.
Coverage for the intranasal vaccine Flumist will be the same as last season. HMSA will pay the maximum allowable charge for the injectable influenza vaccine and families will be responsible for the difference between that amount and the actual cost for Flumist. An administration fee will be paid. Parents must sign a financial waiver form acknowledging their responsibility for the cost share.
